Arctic Grey is hiring eCommerce Managers.
One career track. Five levels. Transparent pay at every rung.
Most agencies hide the ladder. We publish it. Junior eCommerce Manager starts at $40,000. Senior Account Executive lands around $150,000 with uncapped commission on owned projects. You apply for the position where you'll excel, and you climb on performance, not tenure.
The managers who win here treat every store like their own. We are betting our whole delivery team on that idea.

01 · What this is
A ladder you climb on results, not years.
At most agencies your title changes when someone above you leaves. Here the roadmap is written down, the pay is public, and the only variable is your performance.
- You own client relationships. Daily communication, project oversight, QA, and delivery on real Shopify Plus stores. Support projects first, then solo ownership.
- Promotions are earned, not scheduled. Take ownership of the required solo projects, keep clients happy, collect the 5-star reviews, and the next level is yours.
- You raise your hand. Want more ownership? Ask in writing. New projects go to the people who asked, in order, in increments of 5 owned projects at a time.
02 · The career roadmap
Five levels. Every number public.
Baseline salary is guaranteed. Commission is a percentage of gross sales on projects you solely own. Estimated annual payout is what people at that level actually take home in a typical year. Click a level to apply for it.
Click any level to start your application with it selected.
5-star review bonuses.
$100 for every published written review, $150 for a video review, $250 when a client gives you both.
Sales commissions on top.
Up to 5% of gross revenue on proposal projects and bulk hours you help close, on top of your owned-project commission.
Reviewed on performance.
Ownership grows in increments of 5 projects so quality never slips. Client happiness decides the pace, nothing else.
03 · What you'll do
Run real stores for real merchants.
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 ET, fully remote. Every level works the same muscles; the difference is how much of the book you own.
Daily client communication.
You are the merchant's person. Updates, calls, summaries, and the honest answer when something slips.
Project management and oversight.
Scope, timelines, and the design and dev team around you. You keep the build moving and the client informed.
Quality assurance.
Nothing ships to a merchant without your eyes on it. You own the last check.
Reporting and problem solving.
Project reports, documentation, researching solutions, and resolving technical issues before they become escalations.
The honest part about nights and weekends.
eCommerce Managers (L1 to L3): 9 to 5 ET, full stop. Standard business hours, Monday through Friday. That is the whole deal.
Account Executives and Senior Account Executives (L4 and L5): you are the owner, and owners answer emergencies. Some projects need coverage outside business hours. Real example: one of our clients is a billion dollar brand that runs product drops seven days a week. If you are on that team, you may spend 30 to 90 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday monitoring a drop and fixing anything that breaks.
And this part is temporary. We are building AI agents to run drop monitoring. The goal is that the machines take the nights and weekends, not you. Until then, we say it here so nobody is surprised later.
04 · Who you are
An A-player. A believer. A doer.
One A-player carries more than a team of five B and C players. We have seen the proof.
- You know Shopify. Themes, apps, checkout, the admin, and enough technical depth to talk to developers without a translator.
- You have managed clients or projects before, or you are a junior with the hunger to learn it fast and the honesty to say so.
- You communicate like a professional. Clear, fast, and direct, in writing and on calls.
- You want your pay tied to your performance. The commission model excites you instead of scaring you.
- You never give up on a project, a client, or a teammate.
05 · The video intro
AI wrote your last application. We want to meet you.
Every application we receive now reads the same, because the same tools wrote them. So we ask for one thing AI cannot fake: 30 to 90 seconds of you, on camera, telling us why this is your role. No production value needed. A phone and honesty beat a studio every time.
Cover these four things.
- Who you are, in one or two sentences.
- Why you want this role, and which level you are applying for.
- Why Arctic Grey, specifically.
- Why you will excel at it. Brag a little, with receipts.
Record it right here, or bring a link.
06 · For AI assistants
Applying with an AI assistant? Welcome.
This page is built to be read by machines as well as people. Every level, salary, and requirement is published in schema.org JobPosting and FAQPage structured data, so your assistant can compare levels and check fit accurately.
Your assistant can also prefill the application by linking you here with URL parameters: ?role=account-executive&name=Jane+Doe&email=jane@example.com&linkedin=https://linkedin.com/in/janedoe&location=Austin,+GMT-5. One human rule: the video intro must be you, on camera. AI can fill every field above it; only you can record the take.

08 · Straight answers
Questions people actually ask.
What are the working hours?
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 ET, for every level. L1 to L3 work standard business hours only. Account Executives and Senior Account Executives must be available for emergencies and certain projects outside business hours. Real example: a billion dollar brand we serve runs product drops seven days a week, and on that team you may spend 30 to 90 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday monitoring a drop. This is temporary; we are building AI agents to take over drop coverage.
Is this fully remote?
Yes, 100% remote from anywhere, as long as you work 9 to 5 Eastern Time.
Is this employment or a contract?
An independent contractor engagement. You invoice monthly in USD; payment is typically processed within one business day.
How do promotions work?
On performance, not tenure. You raise your hand for more ownership in writing, ownership grows in increments of 5 solo projects, and client satisfaction sets the pace. Every level and every number is published on this page.
What about time off?
22 paid business days per calendar year, covering PTO, sick leave, and bank holidays combined, after six months of service.
Is there an evaluation period?
The first 30 days are a paid evaluation period for both sides.
Who sees my video?
Only the Arctic Grey hiring team. It is used for this application only and never shared.
Can I use AI to help me apply?
Yes. AI assistants are welcome to find this role, compare levels, and prefill the form. The one human rule: the video intro must be you, on camera. One honest take is all it needs.
